Clement's Kindness sponsored an outing to Carowinds for patients (ranging in age from 1 to 12 years old) of the Pediatric Hematology Oncology Center. This trip was different from other events offered at the Center--parents and siblings were invited to enjoy the day. The trip included tickets into the park, transportation, lunch picnic, and snacks. Once inside the park, each family was allowed to enjoy the park at their leisure. The Carowinds trip provided a chance for the families to spend time together, putting aside the hospital and doctors' visits, and allowed siblings to enjoy time together in a normal setting. Some of the medical staff also participated, allowing the parents to feel more at ease.
