The Drive pitches in to help Clement's Kindness.

For the second year the children and their families were treated to a very special day with the Greenville Drive while we took pictures for the annual report. Craig Brown, Owner, and Mike deMaine, Manager, and the Greenville Drive players gave each child lots of time to play ball, eat lunch and chat with the ball players. Each family was also given tickets to come back and see a Greenville Drive Game.

Clement's Kindness Teams Up with Furman and Clemson for Special Sports Outings

Although many of the children treated at the BI-LO Charities Children's Cancer Center are avid basketball and football fans, their treatment often prevents them from being able to attend games and events. This past year, Clement's Kindness was able to sponsor outings for a Furman football practice and game, as well as a Clemson basketball scrimmage trip.

Last October, six families joined Clement's Kindness for a Furman football practice. Every child and sibling received a Furman notebook and pen to collect autographs and the kids had the unique opportunity to watch the players practice and then meet them afterwards.

Later in October, six families and a total of 78 people attended the Rock the John event in Clemson. Once we arrived, each family had the opportunity to take a tour of Littlejohn Coliseum and each child and sibling received a basketball for autographs. After the tour, families enjoyed the special privilege of sitting behind the players on the floor to watch the game. Coach Oliver Purnell came over to take pictures with the families and sign their basketballs. After the event, the families were able to stay and gather more autographs from the players.

Also in October, 35 patients and family members joined Clement's Kindness for the Furman football homecoming game. Everyone was treated to a tailgate lunch in the Daniel Chapel parking lot and then went to the stadium to watch the Paladins take the field. The patients and families even had the unique opportunity to go through the inflatable helmet that the Paladins run through before the game. Our families were also able to stand on the sidelines while the players warmed up.

We'd like to thank all of our contributors for their support, which helps sponsor these events and make our patients' dreams come true.
