With a growing Upstate population, more and more families are coming to the Bi-Lo Children's Charities Cancer Center for diagnosis and treatment.
Usually one parent has to quit work or take an extended leave of absence to support the treatment of the child. The family's bills become a burden and there simply aren't enough community services or programs to provide for every need.
Fortunately, Clement's Kindess is ready with assistance for these families facing the tremendous challenges while caring for a child with serious illness. The fund is used to help families in the foll owing ways:
Discretionary Funds
For non-medical needs including mortgage payments, car payments, utility bills, car repairs, funeral expenses and more.
Psychological Counseling
For services that are integrated into the treatment plan and conveniently provided right at the Bi-Lo Children's Charities Cancer Clinic.
Travel & Living Expenses
For families of children who must travel out of town to receive treatment.
Out-of-Pocket Costs
For expenses such as gas, meals, and phone calls.

The Haynsworth family realized just how fragile life is, after the death of their son, Clement, at the age of 24. Because Clement loved children and had a kind and giving spirit, they have chosen to remember him by reaching out to children whose lives are the most fragile - those who are fighting the battle with cancer and other serious blood disorders.
Clement's Kindness Fund for the Children was established in 2002 to assist Upstate families with children coming to the Children's Hospital Pediatric Hematology Oncology Center for diagnosis and treatment. This is the only Pediatric Hematology Oncology Center in the Upstate, including Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Greenwood, Laurens, Pickens, Spartanburg, and Union counties. The fund provides financial support to familes facing the tremendous challenges associated with a child's diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
Clement's Kindness can continue to make a difference, with your support. Every donation goes directly to the patients and their incredible families.
